… and this year I’m going to sleep through the kick off.

You should know.
What they don’t tell you when you’re young and in health class is that when you’re fat your feat hurt even if you’re lying down. You can’t wear skirts on long walks because you will rub the skin off your inner thighs and sometimes you need to move your stomach out of the way when you sit down.
They should tell you that.

Repo-Man
It’s a good thing that the soundtrack to Repo-Man the Genetic Opera is a pre-release because after J-Man shared the trailer with me last night I went on a typical fan-girl rampage across the web looking for any and all repo-man information.
For those who haven’t seen the trailer here it is in all it’s sexy glory…
Music is available from notyourparentsopera.com go, buy, enjoy!

Success!
Well from early indications The Hacker’s Diet appears to have broken my weight loss plateau.
1.5kg lost this week!
Very exciting and finally feeling motivated again.

Reality’s ugly head
I need to book in for my TS70-401 exam before the content changes.
My training was the first week back at work after the wedding and to be perfectly honest the first day is just a big white blur in my memory. Naturally after looking at the exam-prep guide it emerges the only day’s content I’m actually shakey on is day one.
*Sigh*
Nose to the books then!

Light as a feather
I’ve had a strange feeling all day.
Last time I gave up caffeine I had this feeling too, almost as though I’m actually present in my body for the first time in ages. I certainly haven’t given up caffeine again but maybe it’s because I’ve started actively sleeping more? I don’t believe it’s the exercise or lost much weight as it’s too soon. Maybe it’s a feeling of ‘healthiness’ it could be the beginning perhaps, but not the whole enchilada.
Speaking of… There’s a mexican themed night out on Friday and I’m trying to plan ahead how to handle the meal planning. I’m working with a daily calorie deficiate of at least 500 on the Hacker’s diet so I’m thinking that if I order two tacos and some salad I’ll be okay.
I think I’ll check if the restaurant has a website I can consult for nutritional info.
In other news my bum is sore from riding my bike to work for the first time since I broke my right middle finger. I had to get off and push for the three big hills but I think compared to my fitness level when I initally started to ride I’m doing okay for myself. It’s certainly much easier to ride now I’ve fitted my bike.
I was a little distressed to find my multi-tool missing from my under saddle bag when I arrived at work. I haven’t been able to find it around the house and I’ve got an awful feeling that it has managed to work its way out of a loose zip during a ride.
I’ll have to go shopping this weekend if I don’t find it in the meantime. Can’t be riding around without a basic toolset.

Scratchy Eyes
I have been awake since 5am and my body has decided that it’s too tired to sleep (in that wonderful cranky toddler style we all seem so capable of now and again).
Stupid eyelids, when did you fill yourself with sand?!

Roast Chicken
After my third selectively pink chicken I’m turning to the internet to teach me how to roast using a fan-forced oven.
My parents had a gloriously low tech oven at the family home and I knew just exactly how long to make tasty, crispy exterior roast chook in it. Each apartment I’ve lived in since has had a fancy pants fan-forced affair and none of the bloody things cook evenly or in any predictable fashion.
Next time I cook I’ll be following the Woman’s Weekly approach, I figure they have to know what they’re talking about but if all else fails it’ll be a meat thermometer for me.

Testing Pinging From Wordpress Installations
Testing pings out from my site has proven to be a confusing process, I think I understand now though.
Wordpress both on wordpress.com and personal server installations is configured to ping ping-o-matic automatically. You can locate the settings for which services wordpress is pinging by accessing your settings menu and then proceeding to the bottom of the writing sub-page.
If your installation has the same defaults as mine did you should see http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ listed under Update Services.
To test if you have outgoing pings working you just need to test a trackback to a post somewhere out in the WWW I used Trackback Tester a wonderful service provided for free for just this purpose.
Once you’ve verified that a trackback from your site to theirs arrives you can be fairly certain that your blog won’t be having trouble reaching pingomatic.
Yay!
