Weekly Meetings

By The Other February 18th, 2010, under weight loss

I remember when I was about 18 my Mum lost a lot of weight using the Weight Watchers @ home kit. I think at that time it occurred to me that I didn’t have to be an unhealthy adult but it took a long time for me act on that thought. I wish I had taken advantage of the weight watchers kit she gave me sooner than the seven years it eventually took me.

I worked alone using the @ home kit for six weeks before having the courage to visit a meeting. One again I wish I’d done it sooner.
Meetings have really become my motivation. While it took me almost three months to adjust and become comfortable with the actual patterns of eating and exercise that are involved with the points plan, by attending meetings I could at least see that dropping kilos was possible.

I’ve lost weight with crash diets fast, I’ve lost weight with meetings slow, but I’m cool with that because I honestly feel this time I’m doing it RIGHT.

Project 8352 – February 2010

I’ve changed the graphic that I display with the post now that my credit card is paid off, you’re now seeing my total Net Position.

I didn’t make my total planned repayments this month, I’m seeing it as a positive though! We’re changing our household ISP and that required payment of a set-up fee. I felt great knowing that being ahead on my loan repayments had given me the buffer required to redirect a payment rather than spending money on the credit card.

Like changing my eating, changing my spending is a mental shift that I plan on keeping for life. It’s important to remember slow and steady wins this race.

February 8352 Balance; $7103.86 total debt

Numbers Summary
Original Debt: $8352
Debt at 7th February: $7103.86
Paid off During January: $271.48
Paid off so far: $1248.14

Progress Slowly is Still Progress

I’m so thankful that my perception of a ‘bad’ week has changed.

I thought for sure I was going to gain this week. I did a multitide of ‘wrong’ things and drank so little water my hands are too swolen to remove rings that usually slip off!

I need to realise that if I over eat on one day of a week, it really doesn’t blow the whole thing, especially if I balance it back out on the other days. This kind of blow-out mentality is what would have made me quit the program in the past.

Christmas was fairly brutal on my repayment plans but the numbers are still gradually going down :)

The great news is my credit card is now paid off and I’m working on my last remaining debt, a personal loan from my student days. My plan for the next year is to pay off at least $4500, but hopefully, if everything goes really well to clear the slate altogether.

Numbers Summary
Original Debt: $8352
Debt at 9th January: $7375.34
Paid off during December:$369.61
Paid off so far: $976.66

Eating Out

By The Other January 3rd, 2010, under weight loss

Had a big few weeks in regards to eating at restaurants and cafes. I find that despite the fairly yummy stuff on offer I don’t actually want to eat a whole plate full anymore.
I may need to sit down and assess if I’m eating enough now.
